My name is Kaye (she/her). I was raised in Sherwood Park, Alberta, on Treaty 6 Territory and the traditional lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, and Blackfoot peoples and the Métis Nation of Alberta. I now work in Vancouver, British Columbia, on the unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
I love writing stories, watching documentaries, boxing, eating my spouse’s gluten-free concoctions, collecting sea glass, and most recently, experimenting with floral design. I am also passionate about community leadership.
Here is how I am spending my time professionally these days:
Associate Professor at University Canada West (Interdisciplinary - Arts, Communications and Social Sciences)
Chair of the University Canada West Research Ethics Board
Guest Editor for Issue of Feral Feminisms (call for proposals open!)
Researching sexual and reproductive health (vulvovaginal pain, infertility, sex education)
Developing an art exhibit (erasure poetry about decolonization)
3rd Term President of Options for Sexual Health – Canada’s largest sexual health not-for-profit organization (here’s a picture of me)
